Hamilton Book Tag!

Okay so here is something you need to know about me. I am obsessed with Hamilton. It never fails there is always a Hamilton sing-a-long going down in my car. So when I heard there was a Hamilton book tag, I knew I just had to do it. So without further ado lets get started!

The Room Where it Happens. A book where you would put yourself.

Harry Potter. I want to study potions and learn about magical creatures. I want to eat to my hearts content in the Great Hall. I want to try out for a spot on the Ravenclaw qudditch team.

The Schuyler Sisters. An underrated female character.

Elisa from The Girl of Fire and Thorns series. I honestly think this series is completely underrated and deserves so much love! I will forever push this series on people especially if they love fantasy or to those who have never read fantasy.

My Shot. A character who goes after what they want no matter what.

I am going to go with my latest obsession and that Laia from An Ember in the Ashes. I am not sure how many people would pretend to be a slave to spy on someone to save their brother.

Stay Alive. A character you wished was still alive.

I know how I want to answer this, but I won’t because potential spoilers. So I am going with Sirius Black, because I don’t think a fictional death has hit me that hard before. Okay… it has, but this was the first death in a book that truly hit me.

Burn. The most heartbreaking end to a relationship.

Clockwork Princess. Need I say more?

You’ll be Back. Sassiest villain.

Okay I had to stop and think about this. There are so many villains I can choose for this, but I am going with the Darkling from the Grisha trilogy, because if you have read this you would understand. He has some sass. I also miss the Grisha world so that was factored in to my decision.

Nonstop. A series you marathoned.

Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus. I bought the box set and read all the books in one week. It was pretty intense.

Satisfied. Favorite book with multiple POVs.

Illuminae. Hands down. I went into this book not even sure I would like it and I ended up being mind blown by the whole experience.

Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story?  A book or series that you think will live throughout history.

Harry Potter there is no doubt about it. I feel like it is going to be one of those series that is going to be passed down from generation to generation and people will always remember the boy who lived.

Alright guys so that was the Hamilton book tag! Tell me below what books you would have picked. Also if you are a Hamilton fan like me, what is your favorite song and why? I am super curious to hear people’s response to that. I am always up to discussing some Hamilton.

Reader Problems Book Tag

So I found this book tag on YouTube that is pretty old, but I thought it would be fun to do it anyways. So lets get started, shall we?

You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

I go off what I am in the mood for really. Or if I read the synopsis of a book and it sounds interesting then that is what I read next. I tried using at TBR jar, but I ended up never in the mood for that book, so now I go off of my moods.

You are halfway through a book and your just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you fully committed?

It all depends on why I am not enjoying that book. Is it it because it is just awful or is it hitting the slow part of the book. Usually I power through, but if I am not enjoying the book, then I put it down and maybe come back to it later.

The end of the year is coming and you are behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up and if so how?

Is it a year where I am having the worst book slump ever? Why would I be behind? I would do everything I could to reach my goal. If I have to read a bunch of shorter books to get me to goal, than that is what I will do.

The cover of a series that you love does not match, how do you cope?

WHY DO PUBLISHERS DO THIS?!?! IT IS NOT OKAY, I DON’T COPE! PUBLISHERS STOP DOING THIS TO ME!!!! I sell my series, yes I would do that and get the ebook format. My shelves do not have the time to have mismatched series sitting on them.

Everyone and their mother like a book that you don’t like, who do you bond with over shared feelings?

Goodreads. There is always someone out there that does not like the book. Also Instagram, you can find that brave soul that declares their dislike for the book.

You are reading a book in public and you are about to start crying, how do you deal?

Own it. I am not ashamed that someones writing has brought me to tears.

The sequel of a book you love just came out and you have forgotten a lot about that book, what do you do?

If there is time I try to reread it or I watch book talks that have spoilers in the review to refresh my memory.

You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no to someone who ask?

I just say no. I don’t lend out my books, because this is not the public library. It’s a personal library. Call me a book snob, I don’t care. There has been too many times where I have lent out a book and the book never makes it back to me. I am still needing to replace Perks of Being a Wallflower…

You have picked up and put down 5 different books, how do you get out of this slump?

Either binge watch something on Netflix like Parenthood or Gilmore Girls until I get out the slump and then dive right back in. Or I keep picking up and putting down books until I get that one book. Sometimes I reread a book to get me back into the grove of things.

There are so many books coming out and your dying to read, how many of them are you going to buy?

ALL THE BOOKS! Is there any other answer?

After you purchased all these new books that you are dying to read, how long do they end up sitting on your shelf before you get to them?

What are you talking about I have read all my books on my shelf… Really though it all depends, sometimes I read them instantly other times I find that I am not in the mood to read them right away.

So there was Reader Problems book tag! Now I tag Mollys Book Nook, The Bookish Khalessi, Aimee

Happy Reading!

Outlander Book Tag!

So my first year of being on bookstagram and I kept seeing people posting about Outlander the book and the show. I had no idea at the time what it was, but curiosity got the better of me and when I was wandering around Barnes & Noble I finally picked it up. Flash forward to now and you have one obsessed lassy. When I saw the Outlander tag I knew I had to do it. So let’s get started!

You touch the standing stones and get transported back in time, what era do you hope to land in?

I want to say Victorian era, but this time I will choose something different. Pre or post World War 1, any Downton Abbey fans here? I need my Matthew and I will be fine.

Claire is a really good nurse, what type of skill would you want to have that fictional character excels at?

Okay I would be pretty useless if I got transported in time. I am just a girl who spends her time with a nose in a book and a lot of computer/gaming time. If I could find a way I would be a hacker like my homegirl Felicity Smoke from Arrow or like Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds. Or I would be an inventor, I can be very crafty at times.

Jamie and Claire are ultimate relationship goals, who is your favourite fictional couple?

Well aside from Jamie and Claire, because of the obvious I will go with Magnus and Alec from TMI or Will and Tessa from TID, because by the angel!

The ending of Outlander was shocking, what is one ending of a book you read that totally blew your mind?

City of Glass, because come on you could not have been shocked by that. Just thinking about it makes my mind go, dajfuipenawjvepagjnveapghnjreakar! Yeah…

Scotland has a lot of castles and we see quite a few from Outlander. What fictional kingdom would you want as your own?

This one is so tough to choose! I will go with Prythian form A Court of Thorns and Roses, because of Tamlin or Lucien, I cant decide between the two. Or could I have both?

Outlander has some very steamy romance scenes: What is your favourite romance novel?

I actually don’t really read romance novels, but it is something that I would like to start reading. But Cassandra Claire knows how to write a good romantic story line.

The Jacobite rising is a huge plot point in the Outlander series: What book has your favourite battle in it?

Another tough one. The Return of the King by JRR Tolkien has a pretty epic final battle, or George R.R. Martin knows a thing or two about how to write exciting battle scenes and really just fight scenes in general.

Jamie and Claire get married very unexpectedly: What fictional character would you want to marry on a whim?

Will Herondale. How could I not?

Scotland is a beautiful place: What is one fictional place you would love to visit?

Hogwarts, it would be a sin if I didn’t chose Hogwarts. There is magic, what else do you need?

If you could change the past, would you?

A part of me would want to. I would make sure slavery was never a thing, I would make sure racism did not exist. But something tells me that if I did that then that would effect the present day. So no I would not change anything.

Now it’s your turn to do this tag!

Happy reading!

Unpopular Opinion Book Tag

I was watching some videos on YouTube and I saw the Unpopular Opinion Book Tag video and thought I would do it on this blog. The Unpopular Opinion Book Tag is a tag were well I share my opinion on things that people may or may not agree on. So lets get started!

1. A popular book or series you did not like.

For me this is going to have to be Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I tried so hard to get into the series and even read all the books in the series (it took me a year to read each one), I just couldn’t get into it.

2. A book series that everyone hates, but you love.

This is a tough one, because I am not sure if I have read anything people hate. But I will go with Red Queen on this one. I actually ended up liking the story, I didn’t love it but I did enjoy it. I am hoping it is a series that grows stronger as it goes.

3. A love triangle where the main character ends up with the person you didn’t want them to end up with.

I am going to go with Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, its really the only series that breaks my heart a little that it did not go my way.

4. A popular book genre you rarely reach for.

Contemporaries. It is not like they are bad or anything, I am more into fantasy and historical fiction.

5. A beloved character you didn’t like.

I am not sure if he is a beloved character, but I am going with Four from Divergent series. He was just dull to me and got annoying in Allegiance.

6. A popular beloved author you didn’t like.

John Green. I just had to get it out, I am not into John Green. I have tried so hard to see what people love about him, but I just feel no connection to anything. I did enjoy The Fault in Our Stars, but other than that everything else he has written has fallen flat to me.

7. Popular trope you’re tired of seeing.

There is a lot of things I am tired of seeing in YA, like for instance love triangles. One thing though I am tired of seeing is the boy who is not noticed who is love with the popular girl and somehow they end up together at the end. Or the bad boy turns good, because of a girl. Insert eye roll.

8.Popular series you have no interest in reading.

This is a tough one. I always give a series or a book a chance. I also never say I wont read something, because you never know I may end up liking it after all. For instance I thought I would hate TMI, but I ended up really enjoying it. However I do not see myself reading The 100, mainly because I started the show before I read the book and I love the show.

9. The saying goes, “the book is always better than the movie,” but what movie do you prefer more than the book?

Another tough one. I am going to go with the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. Don’t get me wrong, I love the book as well, it is one of my most recommended books. The movie is beautiful and I cannot help but swoon a little over it. Also the acting was wonderful. Th movie score is also just beautiful. It is a beautiful movie that is all. I also know that it did not follow the book all that well, but I still loved it.

My Life in Books Tag!

Yay my first blog post with a tag! I am so excited about this (I am such a nerd)! Thank you The Bookish Khaleesi for tagging me!

Count Your Age Along Your Bookshelf: What Book is it?

Mystic City by Theo Lawrence, which I have yet to read.

Pick A Book That Represents A Desitnation You Would Like To Travel.

Outlander. Scotland is beautiful, filled with great history and it is just gorgeous. How could I not want to go there?

Pick A Book That Is Your Favourite Color.

Seraphina. Look at how beautiful that cover is! My favourite color ranges all over the place, but I am really loving the shade of purple that was picked. It is much better than the original cover that was picked for the hardback eiditon.

Which Book Do You Have The Fondest Memory Of?

The Hobbit. My dad introduced me to the Lord of the Rings, he read me the Hobbit when I was a little girl right before bed time. I absolutely loved hearing the adventures that the dwarves, the wizard and a Hobbit went on. When I got older he gave me his copy and told me I know the cover is dangling, but I know how much you love books, so take it and the rest of my book collection I have. Needless to say my dad is one on of the reasons why I love reading and he is responsible for my love of fantasy books.

Which Book Did You Have The Most Difficult Time Reading?

Finding Paris by Joy Preble. I just find it  boring and the plotline reminds me of Paper Towns, even though I have not read that book, but I have seen the trailer and it reminds me of that. Except instead of the pretty girl that goes missing it is a sister and the boring sister is left to find.

Which Book On Your TBR Will Give You The Biggest Sense of Achievement?

Grapes of Wrath. It is a longer read and is a classic, which is a genre I usually don’t read and I need to start reading.
